LDA

LDA (Low Dose Allergen) injection therapy is a form of immunotherapy used to treat various allergies and hypersensitivities. Unlike traditional allergy shots, which typically target a specific allergen, LDA injections aim to desensitize the body to a broad range of allergens, including environmental allergens like pollen, dust mites, and pet dander, as well as certain foods and chemicals.

LDA injections are administered subcutaneously (under the skin). The initial phase of treatment involves receiving injections every two months. Over time, the frequency of injections may decrease as the patient's tolerance to allergens improves.

Patients undergoing LDA injection therapy may experience a reduction in allergy symptoms such as sneezing, congestion, itching, and inflammation. Additionally, LDA therapy has been suggested to potentially alleviate symptoms of conditions beyond allergies, including autoimmune disorders and chronic inflammatory conditions, although more research is needed in these areas.
